# Phase 4A manual test script: fixed assets

For the treasurer (or accountant) and someone from HQ Finance. About 25 minutes. The rules (conventions,
depreciation stopping, improvements, write-offs, transfer approval, counts, the register at a date) are also
proved by `tests/Feature/FixedAssetLifecycleTest.php`; this script checks what people see.

**Staff app:** http://localhost/church_acct_app/public/app
**Logins:** demo church **treasurer@demo.church.test** (no two-factor). For approving transfers, an HQ
Finance or administrator login: in the demo church the administrator (whose password you set on 18 Oct),
or in the TOBAS church **hq.finance@toprc.test** (two-factor). See `docs/test-logins.md`.

**Already on the local database from the developer's check (19 Oct):** a transfer of AST-2023-00001 (Main
PA system) to Lekki Branch, waiting for approval.

## A. Conventions and depreciation (treasurer)

1. [ ] **Fixed assets › + Category**: the form asks for the first month of depreciation (full month, from the
month after, or only the days owned). Add a category "Computers", 36 months, days owned.
2. [ ] Register a laptop in it, bought on the 20th of a past month. Its page shows "First month: Only the
days owned"; the projected schedule's first month is about a third of a normal month.
3. [ ] **Reports › Depreciation Schedule**: each asset's charge month by month for the year; an asset that
reaches its residual value shows nothing after that month.

## B. Changes to an asset (treasurer)

4. [ ] Open an asset, **Add a photo**: it shows on the page. Try a PDF: refused.
5. [ ] **Improvement**: ₦100,000, paid from the bank, 12 extra months. The cost rises by ₦100,000; the
history shows the improvement with its journal.
6. [ ] **Write off** another asset with a reason ("Stolen"): its status is "Written off" and its carrying
amount appears as a loss in the journal.
7. [ ] **QR label** opens a printable label; **Print QR labels** on the list gives a sheet for every asset in
use. Scanning a code with a phone opens the asset (after signing in).

## C. Moving an asset (treasurer, then HQ Finance)

8. [ ] On an asset press **Transfer…**, choose another branch and say why: the page says the transfer is
waiting for Headquarters Finance; the asset has not moved.
9. [ ] As HQ Finance, open **Fixed assets**: **Transfers between branches** lists it. **Approve**: the asset
now belongs to the other branch, with a transfer journal. Request another and **Return** it with a reason:
the reason shows and nothing moves.
10. [ ] The person who asked cannot approve their own request.

## D. Checking assets are there (treasurer)

11. [ ] **Verification counts › Start a count** for the church, location "Main auditorium" (or blank for
all). Mark some assets **Found**, one **Found, poor condition** with a note, and add an item not on the
    register.
12. [ ] **Close count**: unmarked assets become **Missing**; the variance report lists missing, poor and
unregistered items. Each asset's history shows the verification.

## E. The register at a date

13. [ ] **Reports › Fixed Asset Register** as at the end of last month: assets bought since are not there,
and an asset improved since shows its old cost. The note gives the ledger's cost and accumulated
depreciation at that date, which agree.
